Today we started by waking up. After packing up, eating a hotel breakfast and getting ready, we set out for some more adventure. My grandparents were still with us.

Our first stop was Dead Horse State Park - 40 minutes away. There's a terrible story behind this terrible name: Cowboys of old would round up wild horses by the cliff edges. They would then pick their favorite horse and leave the rest to die of thirst, trapped in the canyon. Kind of horrible, huh?

There were three levels of land there. We were at the top. Below us was this flat surface. Randomly though, there would be a level below it carved out by water. There would be pillars and cliffs.

After that, we drove about 20 minutes to Canyonlands National Park. Canyonlands was basically Dead Horse State Park with a nicer name. They were both very striking. We went to some lookouts and on a short hike. Christian also got a pair of binoculars there that he was really excited about. Christian also decided to play a game where we all looked for lizards: lizards were worth 1 point, snakes were worth 3 points and the rest of the animals we made up the points as we went. We did a short hike to Mesa Arch. Mesa is Spanish for table. The arch had a flat top and a sheer drop-off on the other side. It was a really amazing view. At the end of the road, was a lookout called Grand View. We weren't going to hike there but it was so beautiful that we walked along the cliff a little.

We walked along the cliff edge at Grand View.

After that, we drove to Salt Lake City - like 4 hours away. We were staying with my second cousins (my dad's cousins). They were super nice and welcoming but by the end of a long day, we were tired and ready for bed.
